Our cutting boards are made from carefully selected white oak, American walnut, and hard maple, chosen for their durability, stability, and food-safe performance. Each board is built in small batches with an obsessive focus on grain orientation, moisture content, and long-term usability — the same standards we apply to our furniture.

Available in both end grain and face grain constructions, these boards are designed to perform beautifully in real kitchens. End grain boards absorb the impact of your knife and gently self-heal over time, while our face grain boards are made from single, continuous boards with no glue lines, highlighting the natural character of the wood and offering a lighter, slimmer profile.

Finished with a food-safe oil and wax blend, every board is made to be used daily — not just admired.

Handmade in California.

Wood Selection

We work with a tight palette of premium hardwoods, each selected for specific performance characteristics:

White Oak – Exceptionally durable and naturally moisture-resistant due to its closed grain structure
Walnut – Rich color, moderate hardness, and excellent dimensional stability
Hard Maple – Dense, fine-grained, and a classic choice for professional kitchens

All lumber is properly dried and acclimated before milling to ensure long-term stability and flatness.

End Grain vs Face Grain

End Grain Boards
End grain construction exposes the wood fibers vertically, allowing knife edges to slip between fibers rather than sever them. This results in:

• Reduced knife wear
• Improved resistance to deep scoring
• A surface that naturally closes back up after use

Face Grain Boards (No Glue Lines)
Our face grain boards are made from single, wide boards — not edge-glued strips. This creates:

• A clean, uninterrupted grain pattern
• A slimmer, lighter board
• A refined look that works equally well for prep or serving

Naturally Anti-Microbial

Hardwood cutting boards aren’t just traditional — they’re scientifically proven to be safer than many synthetic alternatives.

Dense hardwoods like maple, oak, and walnut contain natural compounds that inhibit bacterial growth. Studies have shown that bacteria absorbed into wood fibers die off more quickly than on plastic surfaces, where knife grooves can trap and protect microbes.

Combined with proper drying between uses, solid wood cutting boards are a hygienic and food-safe choice for everyday cooking.

Customization Options

Each board can be tailored to your preferences:

• Edge profiles (square, eased, chamfered, or radius)
• Juice grooves for meat and produce prep
• Handle cutouts for easier lifting
• Custom laser engraving — names, dates, logos, or meaningful text

Whether you’re buying for yourself or as a gift, customization turns a great board into a personal one.

Care & Longevity

With simple care — hand washing, prompt drying, and occasional re-oiling — these boards are designed to last for years, developing character rather than wearing out.
